MARCORSYSCOM Awards InfoReliance a Contract to Develop the Electronic Headquarters Marine Corps (eHQMC) Portal

Fairfax, Virginia—July 7, 2006—InfoReliance Corporation, a leading Northern Virginia information technology firm, announced today that the Headquarters of the US Marine Corps has selected InfoReliance Corporation to design, develop, and implement the first true enterprise portal solution for the entire US Marine Corps—for both the classified and the unclassified environments. Every major Marine Command will provision the Electronic Headquarters Marine Corps (eHQMC) portal for use by individual Marines. The solution is based on the Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server. The solution will support Common Access Card (CAC) authentication when it is fully deployed.

eHQMC gives senior decision makers throughout the Marine Corps a secure environment in which they can collaborate with each other. Decision makers can personalize their views of data and documents. This allows them to create an online environment that gives them the information they need to make well-informed decisions and respond appropriately to critical issues.

eHQMC includes a legislative preparation site for meetings with Congress and an executive dashboard that displays data in charts and graphs. The Commandant of the Marine Corps and other senior staff members can use eHQMC to drill down to the source data. It also includes a workflow feature to manage invitations and events.

The system is being deployed in three releases over a twelve-month period. The first release was deployed in November 2006. The second release is planned for March 16, 2007. The final release is planned for April 30, 2007, with support continuing though the end of September 2007.

“We are excited about eHQMC,” said Marshall Thames, InfoReliance Vice President. “We have had a lot of success with portal projects across several Marine Corps commands and we look forward to working with the Headquarters of the Marine Corps on this very important initiative.”
